HIGH ALUMINA BRICKS
Superior thermal stability for steel ladles, cement kilns and glass furnaces up to 1850°C
PRODUCT OVERVIEW
High alumina bricks are the workhorse of modern refractory engineering. Containing 45–99% Al₂O₃, they deliver exceptional refractoriness, corrosion resistance and load-bearing capacity at elevated temperatures. From steel ladles and cement rotary kilns to glass tank checkers and reheating furnaces, high alumina bricks are trusted wherever thermal performance cannot be compromised.

INSTALLATION NOTES
- 1
Store in dry conditions, protect from moisture and contamination before use
- 2
Use matching high alumina mortar (same Al₂O₃ % as brick) for jointing
- 3
Maintain joint thickness 1.5–3 mm for optimal bond integrity
- 4
Follow controlled dry-out schedule: 20°C/hr to 110°C, hold 12 hrs, then 30°C/hr to operating temp
- 5
Apply expansion allowances: 6–8 mm per metre for silica-bonded grades, 8–10 mm for Al₂O₃ >70%

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
The number indicates the Al₂O₃ content. HA-45 has 45% alumina and is rated to about 1550°C, used for general-purpose linings. HA-60 and HA-70 (60% and 70% Al₂O₃) cover mid-range duty up to 1750°C. HA-80 and HA-90 are used for severe duty in steel ladles, blast furnace bosh and reformer hot zones up to 1850°C. As alumina content rises, refractoriness, slag resistance and price all rise.
