PRODUCT OVERVIEW

Subentry nozzles (SEN) are immersed in the liquid steel pool inside the continuous casting mould, directing steel flow below the meniscus. The flow pattern created by the SEN geometry directly influences slab surface quality, solidification uniformity, and inclusion distribution. Premium SEN design reduces oscillation marks and improves yield.

INSTALLATION NOTES

  1. 1

    Pre-heat SEN to 1000–1100°C using dedicated SEN pre-heater (minimum 45 minutes)

  2. 2

    Never cold-insert SEN into liquid steel, thermal shock will crack it immediately

  3. 3

    Align SEN centrally in mould, offset causes asymmetric flow and quality problems

  4. 4

    Apply anti-oxidation paste to upper flange and tundish bottom nozzle interface
