Silicon carbide (SiC) bricks offer a unique combination of very high thermal conductivity, excellent abrasion resistance, and strong chemical stability. Used wherever standard oxide refractories fail due to wear, erosion, or thermal cycling in aggressive environments.

Use SiC mortar or colloidal silica bonded cement for jointing

Nitride-bonded grades: do not expose to reducing atmospheres above 1400°C

Oxide-bonded grades: suitable for oxidising atmospheres up to 1500°C
