Installation notes
- 1Inspect slide gate frame and cassette for squareness before fitting plates
- 2Ensure plate seating surface is clean and flat, any gap causes steel leakage
- 3Apply thin layer of refractory mortar or anti-oxidation paste to back of plate
- 4Preheat assembled slide gate to 100–150°C before first heat (electric pre-heater preferred)
- 5Check plate wear gauge after each heat, replace when bore erosion exceeds limit
- 6Store slide plates in dry conditions, moisture causes cracking during first heat
