Installation notes

  1. 1Vibratory cast is the standard method for all Cumicrete insulating grades; hand-pack only in confined areas per grade guidance
  2. 2Water addition varies widely by grade, 18–25% for CA 58 up to 45–60% for CIP 103, always follow the specific grade's datasheet, not a blanket figure
  3. 3Never substitute a dense-castable water ratio for an insulating grade, over-wetting collapses the lightweight aggregate structure and destroys the insulation value
  4. 4Cure and dry out on a controlled schedule before first heat-up; trapped moisture in any cast lining risks explosive spalling
  5. 5CA 58 (low-silica, bubble alumina) is specified where the atmosphere is hydrogen or strongly reducing, do not substitute a standard-silica grade in that duty
