Compare Semi-Graphite against every grade SAPL stocks in this family.
| Grade | Carbon content | Bulk density | Apparent porosity | Cold crushing strength |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Carbon Brick | >90% | 1.55 g/cc | 16-24% | 30 MPa |
| Semi-Graphite | >92% | 1.65 g/cc | 14-20% | 35 MPa |
| Impervious | >90% | 1.70 g/cc | <2% (impregnated) | 40 MPa |
Installation notes
- 1Joint with carbon-based / furan resin cement compatible with the chemical service
- 2Keep out of oxidising atmospheres above ~400°C to prevent carbon burn-off
- 3Use impervious (resin-impregnated) grade where low permeability to acids is required
- 4Behind-brick membrane recommended for acid-vessel linings
